SBC week 9 My Bucket List

Hi, it’s hmsdavid and in this post, I will be writing about my bucket list.

So first on my bucket list is that when I grow up I want to be able to work at Keauhou Bird Conservation Center. I want to work there because I like birds a lot and I want to do my part and do what I love and help be a part of the recovery of native Hawaiian birds.  They are an organization that rehabilitates and does breeding of native Hawaiian forest birds. They are helping right now the ‘Alalā, Puaiohi, Palila, Kiwikiu, ‘Akeke‘e, and ‘Akikiki because they have the lowest population right now.

Next, on my bucket list, I want to go to Santa Monica Pier to play Pokemon Go.  I want to go there because my most favorite youtuber always goes there and shows the amazing view and the great pokemon that are always there. I also want to go there because they have good carnival foods and games there. And FYI I am going to go there on Saturday, May 5, 2018.

Lastly, on my bucket list, I want to have my own house on the North Shore one day and have lots of land to have my own farm and big bird aviary. I want to have my home there because it is mostly quiet than the city and has many nice places to relax. This may be a hard thing to cross off my bucket list because I may not have that kind of money then something may change but it is something I want to pursue. SBC week 8 Flipboard 3

Hi, it’s hmsdavid and in this post, I am going to show you what I did for Flipboard 3. Enjoy.

So for the first blog I visited was A person named Carny Crew for saya and in her blog, I read and commented on the post called Sharks, Crocodiles, spotted feasting on a whale in rare drone video. And this post was about these predators all feeding on a whale carcass a mile off the coast of Western Australia and all this was captured on camera by a drone. And I chose this post because I like animals and this title and story caught my eye and was very interesting to me so that is why I chose this post to read and comment on. And the comment I left was Great job on the post I can say this was a very rare thing for someone to experience on a drone many dominate predators feeding at once. Keep up the good work. Hmsdavid.

Next, I visited a person named Cameron 24 and in his blog, I read and commented on a post called Basketball. And this post was about Cameron wanting to be like one of the famous NBA players in the future and he also shared about his basketball tournament. I chose this post because I like basketball a lot and always am open to learning about other peoples successes and stories to hopefully become a future star. And the comment I left on his post was Hi, its hmsdavid and I wanted to say this post is very well done and I hope for the best for you and basketball in the future I am looking forward to seeing you succeed. Lastly, I visited a person named Quin’s blog and in his blog, I read and commented on a post called Tennis Camp. And this post was about him going to UNC tennis camp for one week and his fun time there and how he got to practice tennis and how he got better at the sport. I chose this post because I love to play tennis like my mom and always am wanting to be like her and love inspiration from other people it keeps me going. And the comment I left was Hi, it’s hmsdavid thanks for the inspration and tipe to become a better tennis player and great job on the post keep up the good work . Hmsdavid.

SBC week 5 My birdwatching Exciting News

Hi, it’s hmsdavid and in this post, I wanted to share some Exciting news on my most recent birdwatching day.

This past weekend I was doing my usual watching birds taking pictures of them like I always do. So since birds nest around this time Spring/ almost Summer time I go to places, climb trees and watch the birds behaviors. I have found a few nesting birds so far like the normal Zebra Doves, Myna birds, and finches. But I don’t usually find this bird nesting around my neighborhood.

This bird is called the Japanese White Eye. I was climbing into my neighbor’s Mango tree to relax and sit down, and when I was looking around the tree I saw some white cotton from the Cotton tree around the block. I went to get a closer look at the cotton and I saw that It was a Japanese White Eye nest. At the time they were still building their nest.

I kept keeping track of the nest and taking pictures of it then one day I came back to check on the progress of the nest then saw that a chick hatched. I was very excited because usually the nest’s are very weak to the weather, and wind because they are made from cotton and this one made it. I went up the tree recently to get a photo of the newborn chick to keep track of its growth and saw more eggs inside the nest. So I am ready to see more babies in the nest and see them grow up. Week 4 Activity 1 Uses of Resources

Hi, it’s hmsdavid and in this post, I wanted to talk about the uses of resources in our world. And also how it affects a lot of things.

Do you ever think that to make something small takes a lot of energy or materials to make it? Well, when you make things it uses a lot of resources like energy, chemicals, and water and this all translates to some sort of pollution either big or small. And in some cases, the whole ecosystem is destroyed. The biggest impact in the uses of resources that has on our environment is Raw material extraction.

Raw material extraction can result in soil degradation, water shortages, biodiversity loss, ecosystem damages, and global warming exacerbation. Products need energy and water, as well as land for shipping improper uses of resources, can result in noxious emissions. This problem is something that is not mentioned often and this is a reminder to think about what resources we use and how it impacts life. Activity 3 Beginning of a story and image

Hi, it’s hmsdavid and in this post, I wanted to do activity 3 which is writing the beginning of a story and include an image.  Enjoy.

The Sad Pikachu

One day there was a Pikachu that was very friendly and had lots of pokemon friends. He used to join them in activities and play with them a lot. His best friends were Arbok and Pigey. They used to help each other play with each other, and have sleepovers.

Then one day a new pokemon came and became very popular quickly. His name was Mr. Mime. As soon as he came his friends left him and started to spend more time with him then Pikachu. From then he became sad and always hiding from people. The story continues.
